A Great Milestone

Candice Chow has turned 6. She is still our sweet little girl, still giving us her daily hugs and kisses.

I am revisiting my blog and thought of entering a new entry about our little girl.

Last weekend, Candice won her first trophy!

She attended her first model catwalk for her eye level centre in Jurong West. Candice did her walk on stage without stage fright and putting up her best poses.

Candice got herself a big award in the event as the cutest smile girl among all the participants.

Throwback on our decision to sign up eye level for Candice.....

She has been attending eye level for the past 9 months. Candice took up both the English and Mathematics programmes. I could say that it is very beneficial for Candice.

Last year, at the age of 5, Candice completed her Little Genius program. We did not give her new enrichment classes after that. Many enrichments for 5 years old like I can read, learning lab, Tian Xia are all very popular. We could not manage to even get a seat for Candice to attend either of the programs mentioned.

Then we realized Candice could not do her school worksheets independently. She keep seeking full attention, especially from me. I see that she could not focus well and her concentration level is also limited.

We chanced upon Eye Level and visited them to find out more. The centre manager, Tricia is very experienced. She explained to me how they could help in building the foundation of the young kiddos. Their worksheets are interactive and interesting. Their way of teaching supported independent studying and also critical thinking.

Their main objective is to ensure the young ones fully understand each level before progressing to the next one. Before each level promotion, there will be a dianogistic test to ensure their understanding level is met.
I could still remember how poor Candice has scored the first time. Although worried, we still think that this program could assist her to catch up with her peers.

We are pleased with her progress after 9 months in the program. The biggest improvement made is Candice could do her worksheets all by herself. She is also able to read and write without us attending to her. Personally, I agreed that the foundation building is extremely important for a child. Eye level concept make sure that your child will know his/her work well enough before moving to their next stage.

Tricia is very devoted to the centre and she will arrange Parent-Teacher interactions religiously. We are kept updated on Candice's progress and how we could help Candice to learn more efficiently.

I really thank Tricia for her introduction of the eye level program. I strongly recommend young kids to attend.
