Bye Bye Year 2009

Bye Bye Year 2009!!! It has been an eventful year with the arrival of Candice Chow, me getting a summon, hubby's promotion and etc. Upcoming year, my few top resolutions shall be......

1. Blogging more on Candice's growth
2. Lose weight ~ I target to lose 10kg to regain my pre-pregnancy shape!!!!
3. Word hard and strive for the better when I go back to work
4. Minimize my spending and pay credit cards bills on time

Candice Chow is growing fast. She is able to do the following.

1. Make noises when she wants us to switch on her musical cot toy
2. She will also smile when you tease her at her cheeks or tickle her
3. Watch Hi-5 (Other programs no reaction, but Hi-5 will scream and focus longer)
4. Showing her first signs of hunger by suckling her fist.

I stopped wearing her mittens when she is at her 6th week. She loves holding our fingers and it really feels great with the close contact.

Tried out total breastfeeding for the past 2 days because we ran out of the formula. Was tiring but I am happy also that I am able to satisfy her.

This classic picture was taken when she slept more than 3 hours and missed her feed. She screamed when she is super hungry.

Shopping with Candice is always so relaxing and easy. She is always sleeping soundly in her stroller.

We just came back from Paragon and now she is sleeping in her sarong. Today Hus did not follow me to shop because he got dinner with his colleagues. He got his freedom and I got mine.. Heehee..

Maternity leave

I am enjoying my maternity leave every each day because of the company of my little princess. She is growing well day by day and is easy to take care. I feel proud that she is not a fussy baby and bringing her out now is a breeze.

Some latest pictures taken.

Hus gave me a little surprise during my birthday. He brought me an Iphone. So sweet right? Actually, he been very tolerant towards me because of my mood swings and has been supportive when comes to taking care of Candice. I am glad to have him around and really grateful that he is able to let me be dependent to him.

Anyway, my milk supply is getting better with help of fenugreek and frequent nursing and pumping. Although still not much for storage, I am able to manage feeding Candice with breastmilk throughout a day. I realized sleeping with her really helps in boosting milk supply. Next time, I will try harder.

Candice @ her 6th week

Time really passed very fast and now we are entering my 6th week maternity leave. Been staying consciously at home to take care of Candice with occasional days-out.

Bringing Candice out is a challenging task because she still cry for milk every 2 hours. Although now she normally sleep quite long in the day, I don't dare to bring her out for more than 3 hours. Her trip to IMM with me and my mum is terrible. Within 5 hours, she cried 2 times for milk and was sleeping all the way. Actually she is quite good, because other than crying out loud for milk, she is very pleasant to be with at all times.

Now at her 6th week, Candice is growing well and started to focus things. Things in red normally catches her attention and she loves to watch her mini fan with LED lights. She is sleeping more in the day, causing me having sleepless nights. She loves people patting her to sleep but I am trying to make her get used to sleep alone in the cot.

I am still breastfeeding. My daily routine is only feeding and pumping. Tiring especially at night because she will wake up 2-3 hours every each feed. Sometimes she can be wide awake till the next feed. Although she is not crying, I cant sleep when she is wide awake at her cot. Always I will put her with me on my bed. She will doze off eventually when she is with me. Think she needs the security.

I am doing this for my routine now. Damn tiring....

1. Preparing a hot water bottle to massage my breasts to encourage better milk flow.

2. Latch Candice on for each breast 20 minutes at least.

3. Use the hot water bottle again to massage my breasts.

4. Pump out residual milk after the latching.

5. Wash the milk bottles and pumps.

Now at least able to pump out 100-120ml for both breasts.

Finally the long awaited letter came. I am asked to go on next Saturday. Feeling uneasy but I just wanna get over it and done with asap.

Motherhood is amazing......
