Candice @ her 6th week

Time really passed very fast and now we are entering my 6th week maternity leave. Been staying consciously at home to take care of Candice with occasional days-out.

Bringing Candice out is a challenging task because she still cry for milk every 2 hours. Although now she normally sleep quite long in the day, I don't dare to bring her out for more than 3 hours. Her trip to IMM with me and my mum is terrible. Within 5 hours, she cried 2 times for milk and was sleeping all the way. Actually she is quite good, because other than crying out loud for milk, she is very pleasant to be with at all times.

Now at her 6th week, Candice is growing well and started to focus things. Things in red normally catches her attention and she loves to watch her mini fan with LED lights. She is sleeping more in the day, causing me having sleepless nights. She loves people patting her to sleep but I am trying to make her get used to sleep alone in the cot.

I am still breastfeeding. My daily routine is only feeding and pumping. Tiring especially at night because she will wake up 2-3 hours every each feed. Sometimes she can be wide awake till the next feed. Although she is not crying, I cant sleep when she is wide awake at her cot. Always I will put her with me on my bed. She will doze off eventually when she is with me. Think she needs the security.

I am doing this for my routine now. Damn tiring....

1. Preparing a hot water bottle to massage my breasts to encourage better milk flow.

2. Latch Candice on for each breast 20 minutes at least.

3. Use the hot water bottle again to massage my breasts.

4. Pump out residual milk after the latching.

5. Wash the milk bottles and pumps.

Now at least able to pump out 100-120ml for both breasts.

Finally the long awaited letter came. I am asked to go on next Saturday. Feeling uneasy but I just wanna get over it and done with asap.

Motherhood is amazing......
